LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Physicians, healthcare leaders, first responders and community advocates from across Southern Nevada gathered Saturday night at Encore Las Vegas for the Clark County Medical Society’s 72nd Annual Presidential Installation and Awards Ceremony, an event focused on recognizing work aimed at improving health outcomes in the region.
American Medical Association President Dr. Willie Underwood III attended and joined local healthcare leaders in honoring medical professionals and community partners for their contributions to healthcare throughout Southern Nevada.
A centerpiece of the evening was the presentation of the Winged Heart Awards, including honors recognizing a charity in the health field, a first responder and a nurse.
The awards spotlighted individuals and organizations whose dedication has made a lasting impact on the health and well-being of Southern Nevadans. Boys Town Nevada was among this year’s honorees, recognized for its commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families.
During the ceremony, Dr. Kathleen Benson was installed as the new president of the Clark County Medical Society. The society also expressed gratitude to Dr. George Isaacs and the 2025-2026 CCMS Board of Directors for their leadership and work advancing healthcare and physician advocacy in Southern Nevada.
The medical society also recognized community partners and sponsors, including Roseman University, Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada and Vegas PBS, for supporting health, education and community well-being in Southern Nevada.
Special recognition was given to Dr. Gurmeet Singh and Benson for their leadership in planning the event. The annual gathering emphasized collaboration among physicians, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, educators, first responders and community leaders working to improve quality of life and healthcare access for Southern Nevada residents.
